Newsletter functionality added

Back from long time no hear... We've been busy developing several new additions to MyEVS.net and other NoBorders applications. Some functionality is not fully visible yet, but has been implemented for future usage. Things we are currently developing, things that are currently being tested etc... Always more to come... Well, what's new...

MyEVS.net moved

Hello everybody! Sorry for our downtime, we had to move our sites to another server but we're back online now! Still testing a bit... Migrating from a Windows server :( to a Linux :) can be a bit tricky with PHP and MySQL. Especially since we used to have IIS!

OK, here ends the technical bit...

Planned updates

Hi everyone! We're very busy creating new features for MyEVS, for example e-mail newsletters and visitor statistics for every weblog. The implementation of these features will probably have to wait untill we moved MyEVS to new servers elsewhere to avoid double work. In the mean time I would like to encourage you to report your findings on using MyEVS; what things are not clear enough, what features would you like to see and if you have any ideas on helping MyEVS.net becoming Europe's biggest EVS story website! Please contact us via webmaster(at)myevs.net or write a comment on this message!

Many new updates done again!

Again, many things happened these past days. A few small features added but most importantly, the numbers of registered volunteers and visitors are groing!

Message categories
My colleague Sirio (http://zirrio.myevs.net) made a feature which allows you to personify message categories! So, apart from the default MyEVS.net categories you can add your own categories that fit your project. If you have more then one message catetegory, a box with links appears in the right bar, showing the categories and the number of messages in it. Once you click one of these category-names you can see all messages in that category.

WHO's online?
A new feature is placed in the right bar! It shows how many people are reading your weblog at this exact moment. Maybe nice to see you're not alone! If you click the small green icon a popup appears where you can leave your name. Your name is stored on your computer for the next time you visit the weblog! It also shows the busiest day. That stands for the time and day where most people were reading your blog simultaneously!

More features to come.

By the way, last week we launched www.xplorelogs.nl, it's a weblog system for a Dutch youth programme for volunteers in development countries. It's just been launched but you should take a look and tell me what you think!

Updated location maps

We have updated some things again! When you click someone's location, the map will show an orange marker indicating the active volunteers location.

The system has been moved into another structure, allowing multiple templates and multiple systems to coexist.

If you have any requests or comments regarding MyEVS, don't hesistate to place a comment to this message!
